A Hot Mess

If I wasn’t a writer….hmm. Interesting question. Which path should I go down, the sensible path or the wild and crazy insensible one? I think I’m leaning to the wild, crazy insensible one.
.
Things I’ve wanted to be over the years: rich, pilot, business executive, artist, travel agent, architect, singer (gawd help us), chef, horse trainer/breeder, jockey, sugar baby, marine biologist, interior designer…oh I could go on but I won’t. It’s too boring for you and depressing for me.

What have I been? Clerk, mother, secretary, marketing specialist, student, bus driver, scuba diver, advertising manager, wife, stressed.

What am I? Mom, daughter, sister, Meat Man’s lady, ex-wife, friend, employee, aunt, pet owner, writer,
author, jack of all trades, artist, tired.

Where I wish I was? (sure its not part of the question but hey) Independently wealthy so I only needed to count on myself and do what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it. Ideally, parked on a private beach, in a little grass shack, with all the comforts of course, under a palm tree so I could watch the sun go down and the sea roll in.

I’m Aquarian, and we like to be different, eccentric and at times proud of it. Sadly, we only get one trip around the sun, unless you believe in multiple lives which I’m still pondering, so any paths stepped on that may not be where I wanted to go are still opportunities and experiences. Trying to make the most of the one trip is the name of the game.

So back to if I wasn’t a writer? You know, I have no clue. Looking back though, it seems all I’ve ever wanted to do is write. Right from the first story I created about a horse in Grade 11 and conjuring tales about the Bay City Rollers on the walk to and from high school with my friend – just dated myself didn’t I :). Right through my 20’s, 30’s and finally into my 40’s I pondered and dabbled writing. Writing ad copy carried me through the 40’s until I finally got focused and finished a story and got it published.

The the black and white pic is a blast from the past. It's me at 17, in the high school cafeteria with some friends. Back when I wrote my first horse story :) I'm the one with the coke bottle glasses LOL

All the crazy words in my head would most likely explode into a hot mess if I wasn’t a writer. And that’s the truth.

Blurb
A girls’ night out for a pole dance workshop at her friend’s upscale sex club takes a wild turn for normally timid Karen. She knew what to expect, but not how far she’d be willing to go.
Rob comes to Desire After Dark as a plus one. His only expectation is visual stimulation, not participation. But that soon changes when he spots the buttoned-up-to-there beauty hanging around on the sidelines.
Thrown together, Karen and Rob find the sexual heat between them undeniable. Surrounded by twosomes and moresomes, they step on an unexpected and steamy path. But when another joins in, they have a plus one of their own.

Excerpt

“So, Karen, did you want to go in?” Wendy asked her.
“I didn’t bring a suit.”
“Well, we can fix that.” Wendy peeled off her bikini top and stripped her bottoms down her legs. Rob tried not to ogle his friend. He knew she had great tits but seeing them now, bare, exposed to him, was the last thing he expected.
Karen looked at Wendy and chewed her lower lip. Would she or wouldn’t she strip? Take off her very businesslike clothes. Rob realized he was anticipating her
Plus One
17
answer and wishing she’d make up her mind quickly. He wanted to lay eyes on her hidden body and see if she was really as smoking hot as he thought she was.
“So?” Wendy asked her again.
Karen gulped the last of her wine and set the glass on a table. “What the hell? Why not?” She looked at Rob. “Are you coming in too?”
He didn’t miss a beat. “Yep. Sounds like a great plan.”
She smiled and he returned it. Looked as if he might be getting some tonight after all. He watched her undo the buttons on her blouse and sucked in a breath when the mauve bra, cradling her very nice tits, was exposed to him.
She met his gaze and it was as if her mannerisms suddenly changed from shy to temptress. Every move smooth and controlled as she stripped until she stood in only her bra and panties.
“I thought you were coming in too?” Her voice held a note of teasing.
“Don’t worry. I am. But your little strip there was too entertaining to miss.” He whipped off his shirt and jeans, tossing them on the chair. She dropped her gaze to his briefs and smiled. He was hard and in charge. If she wanted to see, he would show her, and his shorts landed on the pile of clothes.

If I Weren't a Writer....Brazen Style

With a name like Brazen Hotness, my "If I weren't a writer" should probably be a little racy with a side of full on titillation and maybe lots of cleavage. Ok it's me, so that would definitely be lots of cleavage.

I won't lie. At one point in my life I did want to be a Vegas Showgirl....mostly because they got to wear such awesome costumes with glitter and feathers and the shoes! There was a time period when I wanted to be a Bond girl. But only if Pierce Brosnan got to be my Bond (This was after Remington Steele was off the air but he had not yet become Bond) and after the movie would routinely call me just to ...chat.  I think the craziest idea I've ever had was wanting to be a dominatrix..again for the clothes and the shoes.

On the less risque end, I wanted to be a bartender -- I had dreams of competing in the national competitions; a fashion designer -- oh those drawings were terrible;  a geneticist -- kinda hard when you're squeamish from blood; college professor -- English of course!; or the person who came up with the cool/pun names for nail polish.

Romances books weren't my first love (hello mysteries!) or even my second (hi there writing the story lines for video games) but I'd be lying if I wouldn't have found a way to dive, Scrooge McDuck style through those books.

If money were no object, I would be a book reviewer. There are few things on this planet that seem more amazing then reading books and then talking/writing about them non-stop. I had it all planned. I was going to be a middle school librarian by day, book reviewer by night.  With plenty of time to sip tea and shoot the breeze about my books while waving my latest review in the USAToday.

Occasionally I get twitchy and think what if....? But then I remember the wonder of writers cons and the joys of seeing my name on a book like my latest release below.

Makes it all worthwhile. Though I do have to admit, I could go for a pair of dominatrix boots.....

If I Wasn't A Writer (Chocolate Hotness)

If I wasn’t a writer…

Let’s face it. I know I’m not normal and despite what my mother says, “Baby, you are so unique.” Or what my hubby says, “You are one in a million.” I know that what they’re really saying is, “You are one step away from a strait-jacket.” But hey, the crazy in me takes it all in stride.

It’s no secret that my debut book Dangerously Mine was hatched because I kept having dreams about Earth being invaded by hostile aliens. The self-defense mechanism in my brain just happened to click on and think of a way that the alien invasion could turn into a good thing (being rescued by a hunky alien king and having lots of hot sex). Yay for self-defense mechanisms!

I was blessed with an over active imagination (yes, I see it as a blessing). While my school-age friends were dreaming about the boogey man, I was dreaming about vampires. By the time I reached junior high, my closest friends understood that the cross I wore around my neck wasn’t because I was very religious, it was to stave off a vampire attack. And even though they would laugh about it, whenever a bump was heard in the night, they would all rush to my side. Why? Because I was the only one prepared to fight off a vampire attack.

I would keep two Popsicle sticks in my pocket at all times. Why? You guessed it, so I could whip them out and form a cross at a moment’s notice. Ever since my mom caught me tearing the braches from the trees in the backyard and sharpening the ends on the sidewalk into points, the Popsicle sticks were my only defense.

By high school my vampire obsession hadn't subsided, but had to make room for aliens. I was convinced they were coming and they weren’t going to be happy when they got to Earth. Think about it, if you had to travel years to get to your destination would you be in a good mood? No. Exactly.

Luckily for me, writing provides an outlet for every cray-cray thought I have in my mind. Now, when I wake up in a cold sweat, I turn to my pen and paper and write the craziness down. I, like my family, is hoping that one day I’ll be able to make a living off my craziness.

I could ramble on and on about the inner workings of my mind, but I think you get the gist.

If I weren’t a writer, I would be on medication and sitting in group therapy.

If I wasn't a writer...

The crazy members of the Cabal of Hotness need keepers. This is something we know. But we do try to keep each other in line. One of the more organizationally-skilled members of the Cabal is the lovely Danica Avet. Danica, in her infinite wisdom, has provided the rest of us with themes for our blogging.

I love themes. They make blogging way easier. If I don't have to come up with a topic, I'm already ahead of the game. So why am I talking about all this? First, because I can. It's my blog post and I'll do what I want. *evil cackle* Second, because the theme of this blog is:

If I wasn't a writer...

Huh. If I wasn't a writer. I assume the biggest question here is "What would I be?" and I suppose "An unemployed housewife sitting around the house and eating bonbons" is an unacceptable answer. You people are slave drivers.

Okay, so what would I be? As boring as it sounds, I'd probably go back to what I was doing in my Evil Day Job - marketing/PR/media relations/event planning. Yes, I was a Jack (or more accurately) Jill-of-all-Trades, Master of None. I worked in my Evil Day Job during the Great Corporate Restructuring, when employees were being laid off, departments were being consolidated, and entire companies were being swallowed up. So even though I started out in a specific area - market research - I soon had to learn a lot of other skills.

I didn't hate the work. I hated some of the companies and most of my idiot bosses, but I liked the work itself. And I was good at it. I especially loved doing media relations and PR for the cancer hospital in my area. You see, I'm a cancer survivor, and that hospital is where I had my treatment. I literally owe them my life. After treatment, I worked at the hospital at two separate times doing two completely different things, but of the two positions, I loved doing the PR and media relations.

It was awesome work to tell people what a great place the hospital was. I'm sure some of you are thinking - it's a cancer hospital where people die every day. What's so great about that? It's true, of course, that people die every day there. But a lot of people live. And they live because of the great medical and research staffs the hospital employs. So why wouldn't I focus on that and be grateful for that?

So if I wasn't a writer, I'd hopefully still be working for that hospital, tooting its horn 'round the globe.

Now that we've gotten that serious stuff out of the way, have you seen my latest covers? Might want to get a drool cloth...

Please Don't Strand me on a Desert Island!

Recently I’ve found myself longing for a simpler life, picturing myself in a small cottage by the sea or in the hills, balmy breezes coming through the window to ruffle my sarong as I sit at my desk writing. The tiny kitchen is just sufficient for whipping up tasty meals made from local produce, and internet radio provides the backdrop to my life, giving me the variety of music I need to keep sane.

I’m thinking you’re starting to see the problem…

My fantasies of a nice, quiet, peaceful existence always start out small and simple, but then expand. Me, the Hubster and a few dogs in a small, one bed cottage. Then I want an office and the cottage gets bigger. Soon I start wondering where the kids will stay when they come to visit, how many dogs I really can have in the small space, etc. etc.

I don’t think I’m really cut out to live simply, when you get right down to it.

So, we come down to the question at hand… what five things would I have to have to survive on a deserted island. Ugh. That’s incredibly difficult to even contemplate.

I’d want the husband, because he likes to fish and is pretty handy. I guess any man with the same attributes would do, but I’m really attached to the one I have, so I’d pick him.

A dog. Yep, I need at least one dog. They’re the ultimate companions and friends and just have the ability to make my heart sing. If I’m gonna be stranded, I want to be stranded with a dog. I’ll train it to chase the lizards/iguanas away, if there are any on the island, ’cause I just can’t stand those mo-fos.

Something to write on and with. A computer with a never-ending source of power, umpteen pads of paper and pens that don’t run dry—something, anything to get the voices out of my head and onto the page.

Food. Of all different kinds—like a magic crate that when you dip your hand into it you come out with something unexpected. I’m a foodie and the thought of living solely on fish and coconuts is enough to make me want to lose my mind.

Music. I’ll give up TV and movies in a heartbeat but I’d need some way to be able to hear music, and preferably not just what I have on my MP3 player right now. I love hearing new songs, discovering new types of music and previously unknown-to-me artists. Without that I may just go a little insane.

So that’s my list—man, dog, writing implements, food and music. I know it’s a cheater list, but hey, it’s my desert island and I can furnish it however I want!

Chocolate's Deserted Island

5 things I would bring on a deserted island

Normally I have a hard time coming up with things to write about, but this month’s topic is an easy one.

The three things I would bring right off the bat are my children. I know, not sexy at all, but that can't be avoided. The next thing would be my husband.

One, because I love him and if me and the kids are stranded on an island, he gets to suffer with us as well. No getting remarried and starting a new family for him. No way. We suffer and we suffer together. The next reason would be because I need someone to hunt, fish, build and fend off wild animals. So yes, there’s the manual labor aspect of it as well. Who else would let me sleep in, squeal at rodents and bitch and moan but my husband?

The other reason is the sex of course. I can't leave that luscious hunk of love’in at home. If the wild animals didn’t get me, the long nights tossing and turning, thinking about what I was missing eventually would. I even image how fine my man would look in his loin cloth, because unlike me, he doesn’t have an aversion to working out. I imagine how his primal side would come roaring out in full force and it makes me all gitty inside.

In this little scenario I also imagine that the lack of food and the change in diet would probably slim off the forty pounds I’ve been fighting to lose. And despite the lack of exercise, I am lighter, fitter and look totally hot in my jungle wear.

The last thing I would bring is a survival kit. I’m not stupid my sweets. In this kit would be a flare, shot gun, handgun, tons of bullets, knives, needle and thread, lighter and extra lighter fluid, tents (three to be exact), sleeping bags and of course a satellite phone with a GPS and back-up battery. The first thing I would do is call the authorities and give them our coordinates and ask them to give us two weeks so we could enjoy a nice family vacation. Then two weeks later, I would pack up our belongings and wait on the beach for us to be rescued by the luxury liner that would be sent to get us.

Like I said, I’m not dumb.

What am I looking forward to in 2013?

Tits

I’m talking about nice, round, perky DD tits.

I’m begging Santa to hear my Christmas wish *bats eye lashes* and deliver me to a plastic surgeon. I’ve been wanting new tits for a long time, but every time I was about to get them, something else always came up.

Sending the kid off to college
Car broke down and needed a new one

Paying for kid to enroll in a trade program
But not this year *laughs manically*.

The various heroine and hero's in the Fondled and Gobbled series (available now) got me thinking about how badly I want tits this year.

Now, I've never had really small tits like Steele in Cassandra Carr's spoof - Wild Fantasy Hero. According to Cassandra, Steele has got itty bit titties (poor girl) - or as my husband would say, "She belongs to IBTC - the Itty Bitty Tittie Committee."

But I always wanted titties so big that I’d knock over drinks, smother little kids when I hug ‘em and cause grown men to have wet dreams.

I can just see me now, I'd be like Danica Avet's heroine Holly in Cookie Bound with 36DD tits, walking through the grocery store with a tight fitting shirt, no bra, tight jeans and high heels. Oh, I won't be there to shop. I’d be there to show off my beautiful new rack.

Not surprisingly my hubby is very supportive of this tittie dream of mine. When I verbalize my dreams, he’s right by my side, voicing his opinion about how many drinks I’ll knock down, how he’ll have to buy me new bigger bra’s and how I’ll need to set my car seat to the furthest setting away from the steering wheel. I think he would prefer I had tits like Heather in Sasha Devlin's Special Brand of Lovin' who's like DDD. But I think with tits like those I would get in a world of trouble.

*sighs* He’s so great.
I hope 2013 brings you all what you wish for most.

Bow-Chicka-Wow-Wow

Before I get to the good stuff, Random.org picked Wendy P as the winner of the Cabal goodness. But don't despair, folks! The Cabal is holding a mega awesome blog hop for St. Patrick's Day. Be sure to check back for updates!

I'm totally blogging twice this week. That's twice the Cajun spice. Does your ass hurt yet? Hm, that didn't come out quite the way I wanted it to.

Ah well, by now y'all should be used to my goofiness.

What's so special about this week? The second volume of awesomeness otherwise known as the Fondled and Gobbled anthology. Oh yes, you didn't think we were finished with it, did you? Bwahaha! Of course we're not. As we've stated repeatedly, when questioned by people who lay claim to sanity, there's far too much ridiculousness in the world to stop now.

And today marks the day we're unleashing the Kracken. A second time. Yes, I totally said that in the French knight's accent from The Holy Grail (that's a Monty Python movie y'all). So what can you expect in this volume?

Something....like zis?

Well, maybe not exactly like that, but the idea is there.

This volume takes us on a journey with uh, *looks at her notes* badaliensexlosingyourvirginityinabadyetgoodwayScoobyDoosoundingheroesandpenisphobiasandstrippersand...
Okay, let me try this again.

The virgin whose carefully planned hymen removal doesn’t work out the way all the romance novels told her it would. A busty broad doing what she can to get over her penis anxiety—assisted by a cadre of male strippers. A not-so-bright (and not so “big”) alien who comes to claim his life mate, and the Earth girl who wants to be claimed at all costs. A cursed, mute shapeshifter who needs to pop his cherry with his unsuspecting fated mate.

If you’re looking for the perfect romance with the perfect hero and heroine, this isn’t it! This is a series of spoofs, parodies, just-for-fun lighthearted take-offs. It’s for all us longtime, hard-core romance readers who can laugh at the clichés, purple prose and “suspend your disbelief” plot devices that haunt our beloved favorite genre.

And trust me, this book is funny. OMG. I think I had tears in my eyes when I read these stories the first time around. I can only imagine how crazy it is now!

So how can you get your copy of Fondle and Gobbled: Going Back For Seconds?
Try these fine retailers of naughty smut:
Ellora's Cave
Amazon
Barnes and Noble

And be sure to share it with the world. I'm still holding out that the Wayans brothers will want to make a movie out of the spoofs. What do y'all think? If you've read volume one, who do you think should play the heroes and heroines? (All of them.) Personally, I think Armie Hammer could play Cade Kincaid, except he'd have to pretend he's not hung. Not that I know if he's well-endowed or not *hides the naked pictures* Hm, CGI should be able to handle that, right?

Making 2013 My Bitch

Yeah, I said it.

Mostly for shock value. It's Thursday. This is not my usual blogging day, but I'm being greedy and blogging twice this week. What? You heard me, TWICE. Twice the Cajun spice, two times the sheer awesomeness that is moi. And now that I've inflated my ego, I'll float away to Cover Model Land where muscular men with an aversion to clothing feed me chocolate and rub my...feet *cough* all day while I write smut.

*dreamy sigh* I wish 2013 would be like that. Because that would be hardcore. In more ways than one. Bwahaha

But really, 2013 is looking to be a great year. The Cabal of Hotness has unleashed the Kracken once already and now that she's out, she's wreaking havoc on ze world! She's knocking down skyscrapers with her big boobs and snatching up all the sexy men for herself, the greedy bitch. The second volume of Fondled and Gobbled comes out tomorrow, volumes 3 and 4 are in the works and I'm gathering allies for another anthology (which shall remain secret).

In non-Cabal news, I have an upcoming release in Dean's List, a naughty EC for Men Quickie which comes out March 20. It's for men, but I think the womenz can read it too.

I also have a ton of books planned for the year. This is unusual for me. Normally, I do the four or five book goal, but this time there's so much to do, it looks as though I'll be aiming for at least nine releases this year. Providing my editors like my work *bites her nails* Oh and lest I forget, there are a ton of books I'm waiting to read. Oooh, so many that I'm going to have to start buying the cheap kitty litter to afford them.

And then there are the conferences. OMG, I'm so ready for another conference. I'm looking forward to RT in Kansas City. We are going to tear it up. I'm telling y'all, it's going to be wild. They're not going to know what hit them. Someone remind me to tell Kinky we might need to increase our bail money kitty. Then there's RomantiCon. If you haven't registered yet, you might want to get on that. Yeah, it's going to be epic. The Cabal is going to be there in full-friggin-force. Canton might need to expand to accommodate us for four decadent days.

What are you looking forward to this year?

A quick romp in his home office with his family upstairs. A roadside quickie in his car after picking up a stranded motorist. A dominating woman who uses and abuses him in the most delicious of ways. These are just a few things that make Dean McKnight the luckiest man alive. Top it off with a successful career, a wonderful family and a hot, adventurous wife, and Dean couldn’t be happier.
With the option of having a different woman every night of the week, Dean’s list is packed with women who fulfill all his darkest fantasies. He just never knows which one will show up next.
An EC for Men contemporary erotica story from Ellora’s Cave

This year

What am I looking forward to in 2013? Well, I'm looking forward to Fondled & Gobbled: Going Back for Seconds coming out. I was looking forward to the first volume releasing and it has!

I'm REALLY looking forward to Romanticon in October! I missed out last year because of the epic road trip, but this year, I'm so there. I had a BLAST the first year I went and met some amazing people and of course the best part is going to be hanging with the Cabal and Hotties. WOOT! Epic fun times to be had! This is a picture of me with the cavemen.

I'm looking forward to my first release with Harlequin Medicals, but I don't really technically know if that's this year or not, but since I've worked my little brains out over that first book and I'm currently working on the second, I'm REALLY looking forward to the release of Safe in His Hands.

Since this winter has been sucky with colds etc., I'm looking forward to the summer. I love summer.

I'm also looking forward to the Fall because my youngest, who I love dearly, will be going to school and I'll get some writing time in the day instead of having to stay up late and spending my nights hunched over the computer. I just feel really bad for his teacher. ;-)

And that's what I'm looking forward to this year. How about you?

Crazy Sexy Year

2013 has already started off pretty crazy for me. In the last few months I've been through a divorce, a move, a new job, and signed five book contracts!

This post is supposed to be about what I'm most looking forward to this year, and sinceI'm more of a visual person here's some pics of what I'm planning for 2013.

More of this (in real life, not just for my characters)

And this...

With all those contracts I'm definitely going to need to do more of this:

And if there's any time left over I'd like to climb a few mountains

And lick some sexy abs...

Yep, 2013 is going to be a good one :)

Victoria120x180Author Bio:
For the past fourteen years, Victoria has illustrated and authored Seasons of the Witch calendars and planners and written several non-fiction books on magickal arts.
Though fiction was initially a departure for her, she had this series simmering on the back burner of her mind for years. In addition to authoring and illustrating Seasons of the Witch, she plays Classic Rock music (keys, rhythm guitar, vocals) and manages one of Houston’s premier party bands.
This series will eventually include some of her actual experience in the paranormal with fictionalized anecdotes from her journals during the years when she was a practicing “metaphysician” along with material from her academic education in parapsychology.
